Description Wild yellow irises grow along the riverside in one of nature's bright floral displays of spring. The yellow 'flags' bloom early amid a tangle of other wild plants at the waterside. This is from a watercolor painting and shows the flowers against a soft background of blue gray sky and water. The apparent realism of the foreground is contrasted with this unfocused background for a pleasing composition that is suitable for almost any decor from traditional to contemporary.
