Current Gallery: mydigitalrealm ( piece)
All of these works start out as digital photographs from a low resolution camera. I begin manipulating ,cropping -- and whatever else I can dream up -- to end with something I hope you like, but have never seen before. I am trying to present you with a thought or a thought process; something far from abstract, but at the same time captured in our digital realm of reality. My wife, and fellow artist Tree, I think put it best by saying the following, "Photomanipulation arts are images that exist only within the digital realm, (computer), until brought to life through the printing process. Pixels, grains, and high contrasts are allowed within the resulting prints intentionally to give the image texture and added depth. My digital works begin with either a photograph straight from the camera, a scanned photograph, or even a scan of an original drawing or painting -- the creative options are endless! The image is then carefully worked through various digital programs to produce results that express a blending of humanity & technology. Unlike thick oil or acrylic paints, a digital image must discover texture without the aide of a 3-D world -- a print is flat & smooth. Pixels & ripples are modern brush strokes much like the Impressionists and Pointillist strokes of days past." Welcome and enjoy!
